Ivo Papazov-Ibryama was a special guest at the traditional festival of St. Tryphon the Pruner, which was organized for yet another year by Vinprom Karnobat and Karnobat Municipality. The virtuoso clarinetist showed enviable skill in the ritual pruning of the elite winemaker’s grapevine massifs. His Excellency Fam Kuok Bao, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the SR of Vietnam, also experienced the Bulgarian tradition of St. Tryphon the Pruner.
The festival organizers challenged the producers of homemade wine and brandy to prove that the fame of the Karnobat masters has not spread beyond Bulgarian borders by chance. The contest, which involved 39 makers of wine and brandy, was laced with emotion and strain. The best received honorary certificates and cash awards.
