The ancient local ritual of cutting the vines was performed. Choosing a King of the Vineyards was the peak of the good harvest rituals. They represent the blessing of the new harvest grown in the vineyards of the Karnobat winemakers.
Lively horo dances and wine glasses full to the brim marked the climax of the celebration. The special guest was the Vice President of the country, Angel Marin.
43 winemakers took part in the traditional competition for the best homemade wine and grape brandy. The winners received diplomas and money awards.
